In 2023, Ivory Coast will host the events.
Solving the problem of plastic pollution
More than 400 million tons of plastic are produced annually in the world, half of which is intended for single use. Of these, less than 10 percent is recycled.

An estimated 19-23 million tons end up in lakes, rivers and seas every year.

Microplastics - tiny plastic particles up to 5 mm in diameter - end up in food, water and air. It is estimated that every person on the planet consumes more than 50,000 plastic particles a year - and much more when inhaling is taken into account.

Discarded or incinerated single-use plastic harms human health and biodiversity, and pollutes all ecosystems from mountain tops to the ocean floor.

With the science and solutions available to combat the problem, governments, companies and other stakeholders must scale up and accelerate action to address this crisis.

World Environment Day serves as an opportunity to mobilize transformative action from every corner of the world.

I hope you don't forget to take care of nature.
have a nice day reading,
