Tanning preparation:
Before heading to the beach or tanning bed, it's important to prep your skin. Exfoliate to remove dead skin cells for a more even tan. Also, don't forget to moisturize your skin so it's soft and ready for the sun's rays.
Use sunscreen:
Sunscreen is an essential part of a safe tan. Choose a cream with an SPF (sun protection factor) of at least 30 and apply generously to all exposed skin 30 minutes before sun exposure. Remember that the cream needs to be reapplied periodically, especially after swimming or sweating.
The right time to tan:
Avoid direct sunlight during peak times, usually between 10 am and 4 pm. During this time, the sun is at its most intense and can be harmful to the skin. If you do plan on sunbathing during this time, be sure to use sunscreen and look for shade periodically.
Gradual increase in tanning time:
Start with a little sun exposure, especially if your skin isn't used to the sun's rays. Gradually increase your time in the sun to allow your skin to adjust and avoid sunburn.
Sunburn in combination with shady places:
To avoid overexposure to the sun's rays, I suggest spending time in the sun combined with occasional breaks in the shade. This will help reduce the risk of burns and give your skin a chance to rest.
Moisturizing and after-sun care:
After each tan, do not forget to moisturize the skin using lotion or after-sun milk. This will help keep your skin smooth and hydrated, as well as prolong your beautiful tan.
