What feelings can be considered the most intense for a person? It is commonly believed that the most intense feelings for a person are love and passion. Let's delve into these phenomena in more detail. Even in ancient times, the Athenian philosopher Plato identified seven types of love:
Eros (romantic love)
Philia (friendship love)
Agape (spiritual love)
Storge (familial love)
Ludus (playful love)
Mania (obsessive love)
Pragma (pragmatic love)
I would like to emphasize the first type, which is spontaneous and ecstatic infatuation, both physical and spiritual passion. It is a passion directed more towards oneself than towards the other, arising "from the bottom up" and leaving no room for pity or condescension. Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" exemplifies this passionate love. In general, this is the type of love that we encounter universally, and personally, I consider it as the source of the fourth type of love, which is tender love. Tender love is the love found in a family, characterized by tenderness and attention, and it is what we always strive for. So, in answer to the question, I would consider the word "love" as the response, and more specifically, it would be Eros, the passionate love.
