I want to share with you my thoughts on how modern technologies and social media influence our perception of ourselves and others. We all see the flawless photos of models and celebrities that populate our feeds. However, I can't help but notice that more and more people are striving to be better, more beautiful, more perfect in photographs than they really are.
So what's going on? In our era of digital modification and photoshop, reality becomes something fluid and relative. Everyone wants to show their best side, hide their flaws and create the illusion of a perfect life. We retouch skin, reshape body shapes, edit makeup, all to please the beauty standards set by social media and magazines.
But where does this constant striving for perfection lead us? I believe that it leads to falseness and dissatisfaction with oneself. We try to be better than we really are, and at the same time we forget that each of us is unique and beautiful in our own way. We need to realize that perfection doesn't exist and our beauty shouldn't be measured by social media standards.
Instead of striving for illusory ideality, let's allow ourselves to be authentic and natural. Let's put aside the expectations of others and just be happy being ourselves. Be sure that every feature of your face and body makes you unique and beautiful.
And most importantly, let's support each other and recognize that true beauty comes from within. Let's stop comparing ourselves to others and start appreciating ourselves and others for who we really are.
Remember that real life happens outside of filters.
