Trip to Rome
id: 10054369

Rome is a huge open-air time machine - you never know what awaits you around the next turn in one of the many old streets. One of the oldest cities, Rome is constantly changing and these changes can be observed with each new arrival: for example, this year the bus fleet was updated, many monuments were restored, many pretty summer verandas and art clusters appeared.

Must visit for those who want unforgettable experiences:
- Casa Coppelle at Piazza delle Coppelle, 49. Here is a very pleasant interior, which was created by Jacques Garcia - one of the best French decorators, and amazingly delicious gourmet cuisine.

– Opened a year ago, the bar on the terrace of La Rinascente on Via del Tritone, from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city.

– The best place for an aperitif is the garden at the five-star Hotel de Russie. Drinks here are served in a large courtyard, the walls of which are entwined with greenery.

NOT TYPICAL ATTRACTIONS

– Ara Pacis or the Altar of Peace is a glass fence protecting from destruction and dust a snow-white arch in honor of the triumphant return of Emperor Augustus from a military campaign, erected in the 13th century BC. Exhibitions are also often held here (for example, recently there was a photo exhibition from the Magnum Photos agency and others).

– Fontana delle Tartarughe (piazza Mattei) - this small square is located in the center of the Jewish quarter, where tourists usually simply do not reach unknowingly, but in vain - it is incredibly beautiful there. Of particular note is the Turtle Fountain, built in 1588 to provide local residents with drinking water.

– Orto Botanico is a stunning botanical garden, a real oasis in the center of Rome with succulents, palm trees, a bamboo garden and a Japanese corner.
– Quarter EUR: here you can admire modern Rome - the "Square Colosseum" - Palazzo della Civilta italina, where you can visit the Fendi exhibition

When the weather is good, I would certainly advise you to walk a lot - don't be afraid to turn off the tourist trails and look into the courtyards (sometimes they are open) or take a ride on nice Vespa scooters or vintage Fiat 500s (write on instagram, for example, in Dearomatours or Scooteromatours).
When it rains, you can visit my top 5 favorite museums in Rome: the Museo Macro Museum of Modern Art, Museo MAXXI, the national museum of 21st century art designed by the genius Ziha Hadid, Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna, the national gallery of modern art with an impressive a collection of Italian paintings of the 19th-20th centuries and a museum of cultural heritage in Rome - the Museo del Quirinale.
For the most sophisticated travelers who are tired of Rome, I can advise you to go exploring the surroundings around the city - for example, Tivoli has a wonderful park similar to Peterhof. You can also go by car to the sea to swim and sunbathe, the beaches in the towns of Santa Marinella, San Felice Circeo and Sabaudia are perfect, or you can go for a walk along the embankment of the Bracciano volcanic lake, or go to lago Castel Gandolfo - the city where the summer residence is located Pope of Rome.

With Loves, your Maria
