1. "Fat women eat a lot"
This is the most enduring myth. It is believed that overweight people eat either a lot or a lot. And almost certainly junk food - fatty and sugary. If you see a skinny girl at McDonald's, you'll probably think she just popped in for a bite to eat because there were no other options. When a fat woman is dining at McDonald's, most people will probably assume that she eats here all the time. In fact, you cannot know anything about how a person eats if you do not live next to him.
2. Fat people don't move much.
When I weighed 70 kg, many of my new acquaintances in the first conversation wondered why I should not start training, and were terribly surprised when it turned out that I had been training for six days a week. When it comes to a woman who weighs 80 kg or more, almost all people, without exception, believe that she spends most of her time on the couch, eating sweets. In fact, the situation is the same as with nutrition: it may turn out that a thin girl with embossed legs, even in childhood, passed sports sections, and a “fat girl” runs marathons, goes hiking or CMS in some kind of sport.
3. Fat people know nothing about proper nutrition.
In fact, they know everything about him. They have gone through more diets than you can imagine, including those for medical reasons and under the supervision of nutritionists. They know everything about fats, proteins and carbohydrates, their correct combination, fractional nutrition, metabolism, and bowel function. They have read mountains of literature and are up to date with the latest research. They can cook two dozen dishes from cabbage leaves, carrots and eggs.
Fat people overeat, unable to deny themselves pleasure
In fact, regular critical overeating, when cakes are swept away by pieces, and sweets by kilograms, are not associated with hedonism, but with eating disorders. People suffering from them are arranged in exactly the same way as everyone else - the first candy seems tasty, the third just sweet, the twentieth - disgusting and nauseating. In the same way, then the stomach, kidneys, and pancreas hurt. There is no more pleasure from compulsive overeating than from chewing a streptocide tablet during a sore throat. Claiming that a person suffering from eating disorders eats with pleasure is the same as insisting that a person with Lösch-Nychen syndrome enjoys cutting himself. Food acts as a way to cope with pain, sometimes because it causes pain and inconvenience.
I talk about all these myths for one single purpose: to stop people judging others by their appearance. Of course, this will not work right away. We have been told for too long that fullness is associated with laziness and lack of will, and it is unlikely that we will switch so easily, starting to think about every 100+ man he sees that he is more of a sumo wrestler than a fan of fast food and TV. But as they say, the first thought is how you were taught to think, and the second is yourself. And if we cannot control the first, then adding the second to it is quite realistic.
