I have worked with several women who have moved here to the US. I have taught others who have moved to other countries English for their jobs.
When your looking at moving to another country it can be very overwhelming according to them.
The first lesson these women learned . Was they needed their husbands to be with them a lot more than they believed.
It was all the little things they never realized before.
So when your serious you found the right man please have him describe in detail if he was to move to your city. What would he need to know and learn. How would he adjust and what he would he expect from you.
Now you have to look at his dependency on you for everything . Do not think about money . How would he get around? Work? Friends ? Learn the language , customs , the transportation , all those little things he will need. Will you be able to spend all the time he needs teaching him this?
Or is going to be able to do this for you if you move there.
The biggest issue is time. Having time to spend with you as that person walks you through their way of life.
How to call for help. The police , a ambulance , doctors , fire dept and more if they need to if you are not home.
It's all the basics these women taught me who moved here or anywhere that made their lives easier or more difficult for them .
Knowing the country is essential to your happiness and your relationship . Also your husband must know your country, culture, beliefs and customs as well so you both understand each other more clearly.
Yes knowing the language helps to a small degree. But understanding how people live their is vital to one's sanity
The last thing anyone wishes to do is offend someone's friends family or anyone else at first impression.
