What are you going to notice?
The US is so huge . How huge ?
You can put Europe in the US 2.5 times.
The country of Ukraine is smaller than the one state of Texas.
We use 1 language every where with minor variations of it.
Europe is more densely populated.
So people in the US are spread out.
You can travel from one coast to another with no papers to travel ( except flying).
If you wish to drive north to south east to west you can just get in a car and go.
Everything is huge here literally. Our homes, cars , stores and more.
We buy food in bulk for 1 to 2 weeks at a time. Our fridges are double your size. We have huge freezers connected to the fridge and possibly a small freezer for storage of food.
The way we cook is vastly different from your way. Our ovens heat faster and cook faster.
Our measurement system is standard not metric. We buy a gallon of milk ( almost 4 liters) instead of a liter at a time.
Same with petro we call is gas for short ( gasoline ).
The standards of living is vastly different all over the US.
The east and west coast are more expensive.
You can not look at income to determine standard of living. Just like any where.
Example a person living on the east or west coast can have higher incomes. But the cost of living can be a lot higher to living there. Just like any where else.
Rent , land prices, cost of food and more can range greatly.
Buying power all balances out by cost of living. Living in a large city can be very expensive in rent , homes , land and transportation .
Transportation in the US is greatly different from most countries.
We use less public transportation than most. A lot of people drive a car to work.
So your going to buy clothes for yourself and man or family. A lot of our clothes do not list European sizes in them.
Our furniture is completely different as well. In styles and tastes.
But if your man loves you he will let you decorate your home to the way you feel comfortable .
We buy land completely different than you. Each area is greatly different .
In the west and some areas you have to check water and mineral rights might be sold separate from the land.
A hectare is about 2.5 acres of land here.
Most land is sold by a acre or city lot.
Also when reading your letters and profiles let me give you this personal advice to all the gentlemen and ladies!!!
You see the ladies write with words of passion , sensual , romance , and a few more words. Every Ukrainian and Russian lady I've ever met are conservative ladies !!!! They use these words to primary talk about affection and love . Not that they are constantly talking about " sex". You can easily offend your lady in a heart beat if you act over sexual towards her. You will see them constantly mentioning the word RESPECT . Gentlemen they are literally saying treat me like a lady always!!!!
Ask yourself gentlemen would you talk to your mother, daughter or sister like that?
They are mostly referring to signs of affection like hugging , kissing , cuddling , and more gentle ways of expressing your love to them than just sex.
Passion mostly means a sexual act to a lot of men. So please be careful when talking to the ladies. Ladies make sure he understands clearly what you mean.
The word like passion can be a double edged sword for the both of you.
That also goes in where you go as well. Some people take a different meaning to your words.
Also women in the US dress greatly different from women in Eastern Europe.
Women here do not often wear high heels .
Color schemes in the US are not as bold as they are in Europe.
We talk in miles or minutes not kilometers for distance.
A kilometer is about 70% of a mile roughly.
Here a smile will get you a lot of help.
Appearing strong and straight faced all the time could be misunderstood that your angry, cold, and unfriendly.
I know about how you ladies worry about wrinkles as well.
You can get a lot of your favorite Ukrainian and Russian things you love if you look for them online or look for locations that sell them near by.
There are Ukrainian youth camps in the US for women who marry a US man . One of them is 2 or 3 hours from me.
Where thousands of Ukrainian women send their children to learn Ukrainian history and culture.
You need to look for them.
Our cultures are vastly different all over the US. The east coast is a very busy culture. Southern US is a very slow pace, West coast is busy. The upper Midwest and Midwest in the closest to Europe culture . This is what was told to me by Ukrainians , Russians and other European people.
Safety crime and more are influenced by population. So areas can be greatly different.
When comparing crime rates to your country. It is important you compare your country to that state !!!!
The US is divided up in states like Europe is divided up into countries.
Ukraine has a population of about 45 million in a area smaller than the state of Texas.
The total US population exceeds 320 million.
Huge difference in the numbers.
You never see all of Europe comparing numbers to the US. Europe has a population of over 750 million people in a lot smaller area than the US.
So do not believe everything you read.
But use caution still ladies I wish you the best.
When you talk about holiday we use the word vacation.
You have May Day we have Memorial Day .
You have Woman's day we have Valentine's Day .

Our celebrations can be very different yet the same. But in different dates.

When you celebrate Easter we could be celebrating it at a totally different dates.
Christmas in the US is December 24/25
In Ukraine it's January 6/7 .

You need to communicate this with your man. Which days you celebrate . These events can be a huge debate with your spouse.
Taking time off of work to celebrate with you can be a huge challenge if you do not.
( I know one Ukrainian lady who struggled greatly with Christmas time. ).
Her husband wanted the Christmas tree down on January 1st she wanted it up.
She didn't want to upset him so she never told him why. I could see her stressed about something . She just told me. Yet didn't want to bother her husband with such a little deal. It just happen I met her husband . I explained it to him in detail . I saw her 2 days later she was so happy. I asked her why ? She told me her husband put the tree back up and decorated it just for her so she would have her Christmas time. He even got her little gifts to put under it. So she would have them on her traditional time.
Afterwards he told her I talked to him. And he never knew how much it meant to her. So from now on it will be the time for them to have Christmas .
See those little things are vital that each partner know!
It also made their Christmas times easier for them to celebrate. They could go to his families parties and not be so stressed as they were before. Because they had their own private Christmas together.
New Years is another huge date that is huge in Europe and has been changing greatly in the US.
Most people in the US who have families ( children) do not go all out like they do in Europe . Very few large parties any more . You can find them but because drinking and driving in the US is so tough. Most celebrate at home.
Because we use so little public transportation except for our very big cities.
COMMUNICATION IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
The US has become very family oriented.
Going to our children's events are top priority for people here.
In the US the average woman works 55 hours a week outside the home.
The average man works 65 hours a week outside the home.
