Now everywhere you go incomes vary. So this is a generalization for you to see clearly.
Living on the east, west coast or down south in the US. Can very greatly in incomes.
Cost of living maybe higher in major cities and urban areas. Things like rent, prices of homes, taxes, transportation and many other avenues of expenses vary.
My whole point here is simple for everyone . The key indicator a person needs to consider is buying power. Not incomes !!!
A clear example here.
If your making a gross income $100,000 US dollars a year. But your taxes take 30% . Your net income is only $70,000.
Now if your rent or mortgage is $4000 . Just that a lone comes to $48,000 a year. Leaving you with $22,000.
Then add in utilities, real estate taxes, food , transportation expenses. And basic everyday needs .
Your $100,000 US dollar income is really weak in buying power.
It looks great on paper but in reality it's not.
Life is expensive every where!
So if I was moving to another country. I would have to consider these following things.
1. Buying power verses expenses.
2. How much easier is it to raise my income there? If not likely than it's best to look else where.
3. Available services most people consider valuable . But in turn they can be very expensive in the long run. Cities with a lot of services have huge tax loads to cover the cost of those services. Reducing your buying power greatly.
4. Easiness of learning your new area is key. To define this is rather difficult. You have to look at food, health care, daily existence , transportation in the US is vastly different than in Europe.
Education is important. So is training. Most people believe in a large city it's easy to find and receive. It is not ! Remember your not the only person in the city. So waiting lists are common for them. And where are they located and how will you get there is essential. Even through out Europe Asia, and South and Central America it can be challenging.
5. Knowing your local laws, customs, tradition but most important is gestures. Yes we all know common courtesies. But what you do in your own country can be normal could be rather offensive in other areas. Italy's is well known for using hand gestures. The same hand gesture in Italy whether good or bad. Could mean the complete opposite in your country. So you need to bring humility, sincerity and a smile.
Now even smiling from one country to the next can be miss perceived as a interest. It all goes back to learning your new area.
Even non facial expressions can say negative things.
