Tips for long distance relationships
The following tips will help you build a relationship despite the miles between you.
1. Find a convenient time for regular communication
Even if you're immersed in your work, sometimes you just need to talk and get feedback. Depending on your time zones, it takes a certain period to form a suitable time schedule for conversations. You can send funny voice messages to your loved one when you don't have time to talk to him on the phone. The main thing is to find time for each other.
2. Be creative
Record an unexpected audio message, send a letter, postcard or package. Use your imagination and look for new amazing ways to give your partner attention. This does not mean that you need to spend all the funds on your bank card. These could be stickers with nice notes for the next meeting.
3. Don't avoid controversy
No one wants to waste time on conflicts when you have limited time to be together. However, turning a blind eye to disagreements will harm the development of your relationship. The more you talk about topics you haven't yet reached a compromise on before they become a major obstacle in your love story, the better. Try to solve problems as soon as they arise. Correspondence in such matters is not encouraged.
4. Look at the world positively
The usual way of life with long-distance relationships has its pros and cons. Sometimes you may feel like you're missing out on something because you don't see your significant other often. But the other side of the coin is that you have a lot of time and can do your own thing. And if you have a force majeure situation at work or at university, you don’t have to upset your loved one by canceling plans for dinner or a movie.
5. Do boring things together
When you only see each other a couple of times a year, each meeting seems special. This is a real vacation, because you take a break from your everyday worries. But it’s equally important to do routine chores together—fold laundry, mow the lawn. A mutual desire to make everyday things fun and interesting is a good test of a relationship.
6. Make an appointment for your next meeting
Seeing each other requires money and time, so scheduling a meeting isn't always easy. Your feelings may suffer, and your plans for life will become sad if you do not know when you will meet again. Therefore, it is better to set a date for your next date as soon as you return home. This way you can book your tickets in advance at great deals.
Take care of each other and love!
