Aktovsky Canyon, Nikolaev region
Near the village of Aktovo, 170 kilometers from Odessa, there is an amazing natural attraction - the Aktovo Canyon. Its depth is about 50 meters and its area is more than 250 hectares. The local rocks amaze with their power and grandeur; tourists compare them with the famous Grand Canyon in North America.
One day is enough for a trip to Aktovo. But, if you want, you can stay by the river with tents for the night, and then watch the sunrise on the hill. The view is stunning, early in the morning the rough rocks in the haze look like delicate clouds.
The canyon is located on the Mertvovod River (according to legend, the Scythians floated down their dead here). Yes, the name of the river is creepy, but it is absolutely safe here. You can fish and even swim. Come to Aktovsky Canyon in the warm season. It’s beautiful here in spring and summer, but this place looks especially spectacular in autumn.
Go on your trip early and buy groceries in advance. In Voznesensk you will still find supermarkets, but then everything is not so rosy with the shops.

Tarakanovsky fort, Rivne region
Initially this place was intended for defensive purposes. In the 19th century there were barracks for 800 people, and provisions and weapons were also stored here. Now the Tarakanovsky fort is destroyed, but still retains its former grandeur. This will be of interest to lovers of mysticism and abandoned buildings with history.
Locals claim that there is an extremely strong energy center here, so those who want to “refuel” are welcome. If you are interested in photography, be sure to come too. The photos in this gloomy atmosphere are simply gorgeous.

Cave Monastery, Lviv region
One of the interesting, but not very popular attractions of the Lviv region is an ancient cave monastery near the village of Rozgirche. The first mentions of it date back to the middle of the 15th century. A whole complex of two-tiered caves was once both a room for prayer and a habitat for local monks. The hill on which the monastery is located is quite high, so a beautiful view of the picturesque surroundings is guaranteed.
Local residents can arrange a short excursion to the monastery; they know many shocking legends. Come, look at the drawings on the walls, listen to the stories and feel the peaceful atmosphere.
This is a one-day location, but brave souls sometimes spend the night here in tents not far from the temple.

Oposhnya, Poltava region
For the most authentic Ukrainian “glechiks” and “gorshchiki”, go to the ancient Cossack town of Oposhnya - the center of pottery art in the country. For more than 30 years, there has been an open-air Museum of Ukrainian Pottery, where you can make your own favorite cup, communicate with craftsmen from different regions and buy something as a souvenir in the souvenir shop.
The museum is located near the Kotovoye botanical reserve. There is also another local attraction nearby – the ethno-settlement “Old Farm”.
