When I was walking down the street yesterday, I noticed an old woman standing on the sidewalk, looking around puzzledly for an opportunity to cross the road. It was the grandmother who seemed a little confused and unsure at this busy intersection.

My heart sank when I saw how hesitant she was to begin the transition. I realized that she needed help. I walked up to her and smiled: “Let me help you cross the road, grandma?” Her eyes shone with gratitude and she nodded, holding my hand.

We approached the pedestrian crossing, and I made sure that the cars stopped in front of us. I took my grandmother's hand more tightly to make sure she felt safe, and we began the transition.

My grandmother thanked me with words of gratitude as we crossed the road. I smiled at her and replied that it was my pleasure to help. When we got to the other side, she thanked me again and went on her way.

This moment reminded me of the importance of being considerate of others and helping others, especially those who need it most. And I'm glad that I was able to help this kind grandmother cross the street so that she could continue on her way in safety.
