Hello, dear readers! My name is Evgenia, and I want to share with you my exciting experience of celebrating the New Year in beautiful Italy. Despite my Ukrainian roots, I decided to welcome the year in a place where traditions blend with the aromas of Mediterranean cuisine and festivities.
My New Year began with arriving in enchanting Rome. Here, amid ancient ruins and cozy streets, you could feel true magic in the air. Through the blend of scents and sounds of merriment, I felt that my adventure was only just beginning.
On New Year's Eve, I opted for a traditional Italian restaurant. The streets adorned with lights and the festive atmosphere created an incredible mood. Here, there is a tradition that one must go to the Trevi Fountain to fulfill the custom of tossing a coin into the water, wishing for good luck in the future. I did it with memories of my family in Ukraine, imagining them somewhere far away also gathering together to raise glasses for our shared holidays.
Another beautiful experience was at the famous Vatican Square, where the New Year is welcomed under colorful fireworks. The clock hands struck midnight, the fireworks illuminated the sky, and in that moment, you could feel transported to another world where time stands still, and joy fills every cell of the soul.
My experience of celebrating the New Year in Italy left a piece of this remarkable country in my heart. In every stone, every smile, and every memory of my Italian adventure, incredible joy awakens. Despite my distant roots, I felt that a part of me now belongs to Italy.
