If it ever happen in your life that you had to live without knowing what expect for you tomorrow?... without any food and clothing?... without hope?... without loving eyes in front of you?...
I think that is what feel children from shelter - they dont know, what is Love, the dont know, what is better life, they have no Hope.

Despite the fact, I work as makeup artist and hair stylist, I have a volunteer duties in a local kids shelter at my hometown Zaporozhye. I like to give attention to kids, they are in need of simple kind words, rare hugs and true attention.
The goverment of Ukraine does not care about these kids at all.
Recently something happened. I was ashamed to tell this before publicly. But I think everyone should know it.

Few weeks ago we did handmade toys in kids shelter, but government do not allocate money for the children's games, only for food, and that is not enough. So I had to cut some mom's and my old clothes, some teachers brought their old clothes too, because to buy fabric would be too expensive. Also one teacher advised me to go to a second-hand shop and to buy old bright-coloured clothes, to wash them and use as materials for toys! After good washing I cut it all into pieces and we did some nice toys.
On the way back from the shelter I felt that my heart is teared into pieces like these bright-coloured old clothes, my heart was in pain: these children are indifferent to their country. they says, kids are future of the country, the main treasure, the main "gold reserve", but you see how our municipals relate to them...
I think, Ukraine have good kind-hearted people, but absolutely irresponsible government.

Another case which broke my heart forever, happened on Christmas Eve. I got a call from the shelter's director, who asked me to go to City Council and pick up gifts, which deputies have prepared for kids. I was glad that finally we get support for kids.
When I came there, I was given a cage with a bird. "Is that all?" - it was the only thing I asked. The secretary told me in a whisper that this is an economize scheme, so that not to purchase sweet gift or toys to every child, because it would be too expensive...

Perhaps someone will say that I should not to let this pain pass through my heart, because it is impossible to make everyone happy around. But at least I'm trying to put a piece of love in these children's hearts, to show them that someone needs them in this world and they are not alone, that kindness and human love excist.
