I remember when I was little with my cousin, we had such a wonderful tradition. When the time came to part with the tree, we wrote stories about how we celebrated New Year and Christmas. Then these stories were put into envelopes and packed along with New Year's decorations.
Now that we are adults and return to grandma, we open these envelopes and reread our childhood memories. How we dressed up, how I swallowed all the candies at once, and my cousin hid them so that she could treat all the guests later. How our cat tried to climb the Christmas tree.
These notes are like a window into our happy childhood.
Perhaps you and I also have a chance to create something of our own, special. Who knows, maybe one day we will come up with our own unique New Year's tradition together?
May these Christmas preparations bring you joy and comfort. I look forward to your stories and traditions.
