When I was growing up, it was just another reason to visit our neighbors and get something tasty for generously littering their hallway.😁😁😁
I remember that many even specially hung signs on the doors, something like: “Children! We'll give you some goodies anyway! Please don’t litter on the site!” Laughter is laughter, but previously it was considered quite a tradition for the year to be rich and fertile, and usually it was the children who “sowed” something and were generously treated for it.
