The parental instinct is sometimes too protective, even when this can negatively affect the child. Modern psychologists note the most typical manifestations of “super love”:
to love - to allow the child everything, to give him complete freedom;
to love - to do everything for the child, to provide for him financially;
to love - to vigilantly control his every step, his every action;
love - constantly express your feelings for the child, hug, kiss him;
to love “for something”: for success, for the praise of others, for some merit.
Parental love must protect itself from two dangerous extremes: “blind self-sacrifice” and “excessive care.” In the first case, the system of moral values is mixed in the child’s mind, giving rise to egocentrism in relation to other people and a consumerist attitude towards parents.
The development of personality depends on the amount of parental love received more than on anything else, because “parental love gives children a sense of security, support in life, makes them stronger and more confident. If a child is loved in childhood, he himself will be able to love.”
