The tragedy and symbol of staglieno
id: 10053908

The most popular speech of the famous fighter for civil rights Martin Luther King is “I Have a Dream!” I have a dream too. However, from the beginning, I’d like to tell the story, which excited me since my childhood. This story told me about an unknown person. An Italian city Genoa. Here is located well known all over the world cemetery Staglieno. This is an open-air museum - a repository of monumental sculptures – the tombstones. In Genoa, I lived as a poor simple girlie. We are similar. I am not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. From early childhood, this girl wanted nothing. Gale didn’t want to be married as I did, didn’t want to get kids as I did. She has only one dream buried in this cemetery after death. She worked at Staglieno as a cleaner all her life, gathering money from her wages. A cleaner wanted to buy them as possible best tombstone monumental sculpture. Years went by. A girlie, a virgin, died. However, the money gatherin' by the cleaner was not sufficient. The people of Genoa gathered the rest of the last money. Now one of the central Staglieno sights is a monument of simple cleaner, virgin. For me, it symbolizes the realization of the unrealizable dream. I have not yet realized my dream. I want to find a reliable fellow, get married, and have a family and kids. Guys, who’re indeed looking for another half of a family couple, look at me.
