It is easier for us to plan our lives from a certain date, especially if it symbolizes the beginning of something new. Therefore, it often seems to people that the beginning of the next year, month or week is the ideal moment to change something in life: get rid of bad habits, play sports, learn a foreign language or master a new profession, launch a project or business.
However, setting too ambitious a goal can cause our expectations of ourselves to be too high, while our minds and bodies need time to adapt to the changes. And this, in turn, leads to us being disappointed in ourselves if we don’t see quick results.
Therefore, sometimes, instead of focusing on symbolic dates, it is better to set yourself realistic deadlines and understand when you will have more free time or energy - after all, you can start implementing plans on any day.
