Being a Ukrainian girl living in Germany has its challenges. I often find myself trying to blend in with the local culture and people, but there are times when I can't help but feel like I stick out like a sore thumb.
I constantly question whether I should try to be more like a German girl in order to fit in better. Should I change my appearance, my behavior, or even my accent to be more like them? But then I stop and remind myself that it's okay to be different. It's okay to be proud of my Ukrainian roots and not try to change who I am just to fit in.
After all, diversity is what makes the world a beautiful place. Embracing my uniqueness and cultural heritage is something to be celebrated, not hidden. So, while I may not always look or act like a "typical" German girl, I know that my differences are what make me who I am. And that is something worth celebrating.
