Due to Ukraine's territories historically being parts of various states and influenced by different nationalities, cultural characteristics of each region developed independently. Geographical factors also had a significant impact. For instance, sheep farming🐑 products are popular in Western Ukraine, while dishes made from potatoes🥔 are preferred in the Polissia region. However, across the entire country, there is a common set of products (pork🐷, lard🥓, beets🍅, wheat flour🌾, legumes🫛, vegetable oil🧈) and methods of preparation. Traditional Ukrainian dishes are primarily boiled, stewed, and baked, with these culinary practices traditionally used in ovens. Pickling and fermenting were the most common methods of food preservation. Notably, Nizhyn cucumbers are well-known, exported in large quantities to 56 countries, including being served on the table of the British Queen🫅!
