rules of etiquette on the first date
id: 10048303

When going on a first date, we usually make an appointment for a manicure and hair styling, and also spend a long time thinking about the best outfit. At the same time, most often we forget about the basic rules of etiquette that should be observed in any case. They will help you respect yourself first, regardless of whether you liked the man and are ready to continue communication, or you are disappointed and know that you will not see him again.

1. Try to be on time. If you will be late, warn the guy in advance. Despite all the jokes about girls and being late, none of us like to wait.

2. Be polite. Show your partner respect and be polite to him and to those around him: the staff at the restaurant or his acquaintances whom you meet by chance.

3. Be careful. Focus on your partner and guide the conversation using open-ended questions to learn more about them.

4. Don't be pushy, don't turn the date into an interrogation. Don't force your partner to share something very personal - he is unlikely to be ready for this at the moment.

5. Don't interrupt your interlocutor. Give him a chance to finish his thought.

6. Make eye contact. This show of respect and attention will help you establish a deep emotional connection.

7. Don't use your cell phone while on a date. Leave your phone in your pocket or bag and focus on your partner. If you are expecting an important call, then warn about it in advance and apologize when you need to answer.

8. Be yourself. Don't pretend, be honest and frank.

9. Thank your partner for the time you spent together. Even if something was not the way you would like, you should not focus on it.
