There are usually two types of movies: amusing movies and serious ones. The amusing movies have the power to make people laugh, while the serious ones urge people to think. I believe that we can get more benefits from the serious movies. Although entertaining movies help us get a lot of a fun, they are not as interesting as serious movies. In addition, serious movies are educational and sometimes controversial, and thus encourage people to have a different attitude towards an issue presented. First, serious movies usually tend to provide excessive information about the scene and main characters, so that the viewers could overthink every distinctive scenario. For example, the scenery unfolding on the background of world wars usually doesn’t include much of military concern. However, such background makes us feel the fear of losing, introduces prejudice and actually makes us think as we were also to experience the same. In this case, viewers unintentionally come to mind what they would do if they were the characters.
Moreover, serious films are educational ones. In fact, most of them deal with large amount of scientists and professionals. For example, ‘The Martian’ movie intended to be a documentary, in which all NAS PR-professionals, cosmologists and biologists were involved. Furthermore, psychological dramas and thrillers are also intellectual films, and thus produce ideas and issues for people to overcome in real life. Therefore, serious movies make people have deep thoughts towards our lives and develop our mature thinking since they always give us moral lessons to learn.
All in all, joyful movies can’t provide viewers with the information and emotions that serios films do. By watching them, we reach the sense of world’s diversity and sometimes cruelty, but still are offered to observe the life that we could face one day. So don’t hesitate offering your girls going to the cinema – you both would profit for no doubt!
