i am writing today so that my..strange way of living is in the forefront and will never be a surprise. a few years ago, i wrote this verse to tell anyone interested about who i am.
This song has a name now, it is titled "A Different Drummer". because it tells of life just as far from the norm as Henry Thoreau at Walden Pond.

When I was young I heard a song, it talked to me the whole night long
It talked of life and a way to live, I have the memory still today
It spoke to me and helped me to see, that life and living are different things
In life we must move forward, no matter what the cost
In living there is loveliness and done right can give us wings

The room is full of people, they're standing everywhere.
They laugh and smile and carry on, and yet you feel alone
Could it be that you're different, or perhaps they just don't know
The beauty of the world you're living in, or the places that you go.
Have they lived the song that talks about an Angel in the Morn
Has a singer changed a song to say hello
Did the woman of your dreams sing a slow sad goodbye song
That hit you like a hammer, and then she just was gone?

There are songs that say forever, and the ones that say we're blue
And the ones that make us laugh when we are down
Lots of songs are silly, they just help us pass the time
The writer, he was drunk that day, and just had to make a rhyme
Sometimes a song can hurt us, it can cut you like a knife
God bless the songs that heal our hearts once more
Each song can make a memory, or say the things you cannot say
They make the life we have worth living, and light the darkness of our day

As the music starts, the room begins to swirl

when i was young, i had no particular thing that i wanted to do with my life. then i heard the song "thank God i'm a country boy" by john denver. i became the person in the song to the best of my ability. as my song says...i have the memory still today. i have known only 3 ladies in my life who share a similar formation of who they are. one was many years ago and i was too scared of how i felt to be effective in a relationship. the second is mentioned in an earlier blog on this site and the third i met here. hello kate. everyone has become a good friend to me and i value our friendships. i want to give back to you all some of the love and caring that you have extended to me. one of my friends here is actively working on humanitarian aid for the areas of ukraine that need it. my purpose right now is two fold. one is to help her with her work through communication with groups here in the u s a and in europe to help, the other is to create a summary that is accurate about the political issues there in ukraine. from you and your friends from every part of your country so that i can write an accurate summary and perhaps together, we can make our world a better place by understanding and because of this, maybe we can solve the issues together. i have experience with reports to major government agencies her in the u s a, so this is within my ability.there is an old story about the child who kept jumping into the air trying to touch the stars. people made fun of him but he just told them,"at least my feet left the ground". lets try together. by you people sending me very brief, but accurate summaries of what is going on there . try to keep facts and opinions labeled so that i know the difference. shall we try to change the world together? your friend, dan
