In a world where we talk so much about love, romance and perfect relationships, sometimes we forget that happiness can be found in the most unexpected places. For example, I adore flowers. Yes, I know this may seem a little strange, but despite the popular belief that flowers should only be given “from someone”, I just can’t resist buying bouquets for myself. And guess what? I do this not only because flowers are pleasing to the eye, but also because they remind me of the importance of self-care.

A lonely woman with a bouquet - wow! Usually this seems unusual, but for me flowers have become a kind of way to tell myself: “You deserve this.” What’s also interesting is that some flower shops even give me a discount when I buy flowers for myself. Why? Because they seem to understand that a person who buys flowers for himself is looking for special attention and support. I suppose it's some kind of small consolation for being alone.

But let's face it: is this unfair to men? Where are the discounts for those who buy flowers for themselves, being away from relationships and generally accepted expectations? Why can only women enjoy such privileges? Don’t men need to make allowances because let’s be honest, men don’t often do this. Or maybe I just came across the wrong men in my life. Well, this is a topic for discussion for another post.

Perhaps I'm exaggerating a little, but if you look at it from the other side, this whole process of buying flowers for yourself, discounts and stereotypes emphasizes the importance of self-respect and self-love. Flowers are not only about pleasing others, but also about pleasing yourself.

So, the next time you see a woman holding a bouquet of flowers, remember that it may not just be about romance, but how we are all learning to take care of ourselves and find joy in the simplest things. And maybe the next time you pass by a flower shop, don't hesitate to stop by and give yourself a little happiness. Because at the end of the day, we all deserve a little love and care.
