When it comes to choosing a partner, we are often faced with a lot of opinions and advice from friends, family and even strangers. They all think they know what's best for us. But here’s what I learned from my own experience: true happiness in a relationship comes when you choose to idealize your partner and turn a blind eye to other people’s opinions.

We live in a world where idealization is often perceived as negative, as if we are deceiving ourselves. But is this really so? For me, idealizing my husband is a conscious choice. It is the ability to see the best in him and focus on his strengths. I believe that there is something special about every person and it is these traits that we choose to notice and appreciate.

When I think about my future husband, I imagine him as I want him to be - kind, caring, understanding. I know he will have flaws, like any person, but I choose not to focus on them. Instead, I will support him, believe in him and inspire him to be better.

Other people's opinions? They will always find something to say. But it is important to remember that only we ourselves know what is really important to us and what makes us happy. My friends may think that I idealize my partner too much, but for me it is part of loving and respecting him. In the end, this is our relationship, and it is up to us to decide how to build it. And I understand that my partner will obviously be older than me, that’s what I’m looking for.

Idealizing does not mean turning a blind eye to real problems. This means seeing the potential in your partner and helping him discover it. This means believing in his abilities and supporting him in difficult moments. When we idealize, we create an atmosphere of positivity and trust around ourselves, which helps our relationships grow and develop.
