When I was a little girl, my dad often took me fishing with him. At first it was a simple desire to spend time with him, to breathe fresh air and watch how he deftly cast a rod. But over time, I began to realize that fishing is more than just rods and patience. It's a whole ritual filled with silence, reflection and union with nature.
I remember how my dad and I would get up early in the morning when the sun was just beginning to rise above the horizon. At such moments the world seemed completely different, quiet, calm and infinitely large. We would go out to the river, where the air was full of freshness and the smell of water. Dad taught me all the tricks of fishing, told me how important it was to feel the line, how to hook the fish correctly. I caught his every word, as if this knowledge was something magical, passed down from generation to generation.
And now, years later, I realize that fishing for me is not just an opportunity to catch fish. It's a way to disconnect from the hustle and bustle, to regain my peace of mind and to be alone with myself. Every time I hold a fishing rod in my hands, I feel my father with me again, his lessons and advice live in me, and that gives me a special joy.
So yes, maybe it's a bit unusual, but I love fishing. And it is more than just a hobby to me. It's a part of my soul, my way to regenerate and find harmony in this crazy world.
