5 love languages
id: 10045501

Many people in relationships, even long-term ones, face conflicts on the background of misunderstanding. It happens that these conflicts remain unresolved, they try to hush them up as soon as possible, and the partners keep these offenses inside themselves for a long time. It turns out that the root of such conflicts can be a different understanding of the very concept of ‘love’.

Psychologists have identified the following 5 types of love languages:

1. Words of love ❤️. This is when a person considers the main manifestation of love pleasant words from the partner, compliments, and frequent reminders of how much he is loved. One ‘I love you’ a year will not be enough for such a partner - it is desirable to talk about it as often as possible.

2. Physical connection 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨. In this case for the partner important in the relationship will be touching, hugging, kissing, or something hotter - it all depends on what exactly of the above will be acceptable to them.

3. Gifts 🎁. This love language has nothing to do with mercantilism, as some may think. It is more like the perception of love of the partner through something material, and it does not necessarily have to be something expensive. Flowers, chocolates, some cute couple things like cases or t-shirts, jewelry - all these can serve as a reminder of the importance of the relationship to the partner.

4. Time ⏳. What is meant here is not just being near each other, in the same flat or the same room. This type of love language refers to quality time spent together, such as doing activities that you both enjoy - going for walks, romantic dates, shared hobbies, etc.

5. Acts of services 🫶. Have you ever heard the phrase ‘’actions speak louder than words‘’? It describes this type of love perfectly. Caring for a sick partner, help in a difficult moment, support, and help around the house may be much more important for a partner than any most poetic declarations of love or pricey gifts.

Do you agree with the theory of “5 languages of love” and such subdivisions? What language may fit you the best? Feel free to write me all your ideas and thoughts – I will be glad to read them.
