When I filled out the application form on Find Bride, I was faced with an unexpected dilemma: what profession should I indicate? Engineering is my main job, requiring deep knowledge, perseverance and analytical thinking. But I suddenly wondered if this could scare away potential acquaintances? After all, many, unfortunately, still perceive engineering as a “male” profession. Be that as it may, this is my truth, my pride, but for a second I thought, what if I should emphasize my hobby - a manicurist? This is also part of me, part of my creative nature.
Of course, you can highlight your hobbies in your profile description, and I indicated that I love creating beauty with my own hands. But in the “profession” column, I decided to be honest - I’m an engineer. Why hide that part of myself that is so important and defines my life? However, doubts still remain - will this become a barrier? After all, on a dating site we are all looking for understanding and support, but is it important for someone that I can not only design complex systems, but also create an elegant manicure?
Probably, such thoughts are familiar to many women, especially those who combine different roles and talents.
After all, life is too short to pretend to be someone else. Perhaps someone will see me as just an engineer, while others will see that same creative soul who loves to create beauty around herself. Thank you Find Bride for the opportunity to find someone who will understand and accept me with all my facets and hobbies.
