In response to "The Puzzle of Choices" by Helen

People make choices on different criteria. Some make a choice because they like the face of the other person. Some make choices on how the other person speaks. Some make choices by the bodily shape of the other person. During School days, some girls are attracted to the boys with the most popularity and vice versa. So, it's mostly a matter of one's taste. We are mostly guided by what our eyes see, but we do not look at the "big picture". We do not satisfy ourselves that this is, indeed, the person we would like to be with for a long time.

Let's stop accepting or rejecting the cover before we've had the chance to read the entire story, only then will we be ably to say that the story was indeed good as portrayed by the cover. The singer, Percy Sledge, sang a song, "Take time to know her", it can also go for him. We are plunging into relationships without, first, taking time out to know her/him. There must be a period of "courtship" in any relationship before deciding to settle down. The West Indian have a proverb, "You don't see the problem in the day and take firestick to see it in the night." It simply means that you don't see the problems during the "courtship" period and wait until you are married to sort it out. The courtship period is meant to address all the faults and decide if you can live with it for the rest of your life.

Remember, in life, there is freedom of choices, but, at the same time, let's endeavor to make the right ones that are suited to our situations. Enjoy your searches and your choices, have a great day.
