Why does a Ukrainian woman need so little to be happy? For a long time, our ancestors did not have the right to build their own life. When it became possible, marriages were concluded with selfish intentions. Because it is much easier to do work together. For the same reason, children were born. And if you are lucky enough to marry your loved one, then it is quite likely that the man will be taken into the army, and he will die participating in numerous wars. But no one will consider your husband a hero.

So, if my ancestors had managed to build at least some kind of farm that could feed the whole family, then most likely the Soviet government would have taken away all their property and land and given them to collective farms. Holodomors, wars, diseases. The impossibility of developing Ukrainian culture and the impossibility of building a healthy family. The impossibility of passing on an inheritance to one's children.

How did this affect today's Ukrainian women? With the education of my mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. I, like most Ukrainian women, have certain desires and beliefs about family at the genetic level.

Understanding happiness for Ukrainian women is the opportunity to have a family with a beloved man, to have a household that no one will probably take away. The opportunity to give birth to children, raise them and teach them the right things. For us, happiness is when there is enough money for bread and milk. When there is a roof over your head and warmth in the house. If the husband does not go to war, the daughter will marry for love, the son will be able to study, and the happiest day will be spent at home with the family.

Times have changed, but the desire to find peace of mind and security remains. And, unfortunately, even in the 21st century, we have to face similar problems that our ancestors faced.
