Ingredients:
For the dough:
Flour - 250 g
Butter (cold) — 150 g
Sugar - 50 g
Egg - 1 pc.
A pinch of salt
For the filling:
Apples - 5-6 medium ones
Sugar - 100 g
Cinnamon - 1 tsp.
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp.
Corn starch - 1 tbsp. (can be replaced with flour)
Vanilla sugar - 1 tsp. (optional)
For lubrication:
Egg - 1 pc. (for gloss)
Powdered sugar - for sprinkling (optional)
Preparation:
Preparation of the dough:
Sift the flour into a deep bowl.
Add cold butter and cut it into small pieces. Grind everything into crumbs.
Add sugar, salt and egg. Knead the dough quickly. If it is very dry, you can add 1-2 tbsp. cold water
Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in cling film and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Preparation of the filling:
Peel the apples and cut them into slices.
Sprinkle the apples with sugar, add cinnamon, lemon juice, starch and vanilla sugar. Mix gently.
Forming the pie:
Take the dough out of the refrigerator and divide it into two parts (one slightly larger than the other).
Roll out most of the dough and place it in the baking dish so that the edges hang down a little.
Put the filling on the dough.
Roll out a smaller part of the dough and cover the filling with it. You can make a classic grill or completely cover the cake.
Fasten the edges of the dough, brush the top with a beaten egg.
Baking:
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Bake the cake for 40-50 minutes until it turns golden.
Cooling and serving:
Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.
You can sprinkle with powdered sugar for beauty.
