How to stop depending on others' opinions
id: 10055157

1 🔥

Remember, it's completely normal to have different opinions from your family and friends. A variety of perspectives allows us to see things from different angles. If your opinion differs from others, it might be that next time, they’ll ask you for advice.

2 💜

Your relationships won’t necessarily suffer just because you didn’t take someone’s advice or didn’t consider their opinion. There are ways to stand your ground. For instance, you can thank the person for sharing their thoughts and explain why their advice doesn’t work for you right now. This shows that you value their input, even if you’re not ready to accept their help.

Keep in mind: nobody knows what the future holds or which action will move you forward. Trust your intuition, and don’t be afraid to choose your own path — no one knows you better than you do.

4 ☀️

Don’t be afraid to take responsibility for your decisions. It might seem at first that by following someone else’s advice, you can avoid the consequences of your choices. But in reality, no matter whose opinion you follow, the responsibility is still yours.

5 🤗

Believe in yourself and give yourself a chance to test your assumptions about the world. If this feels hard, try this: say to yourself, “I want to run an experiment — to test my own opinion. Even if it turns out to be wrong, my world won’t fall apart, and I’m ready for that.”

6 🥰

Write down your strengths and values.

Make two lists: in one column, write your best qualities (kind, caring, fair), and in the other, what you consider essential for your happiness. For some, it’s the freedom to do what they want, while for others, it’s stability, etc.

For example, check out Mark Manson’s book *The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life.* The key is not just to read it, nod in agreement, put it down, and forget about it. Instead, reflect on it and start applying its advice to your life.

It would be even better if you develop the habit of writing down your achievements and occasionally rereading the list: seeing your progress will inspire you and motivate you to keep going.
