History of nachos

In 1943, in the small Mexican town of Piedras Negras near the Texas border, restaurant owner Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya prepared an original appetizer for American guests. Not having enough food, he took corn chips, sprinkled them with melted cheese and added some jalapeño peppers. Thus was born a new dish that he named in his honor - Nachos!
