Cotton toys began to be made in the last century, and many remember these old decorations from childhood. Now they are coming back into fashion, and for good reason: such toys create a special feeling of coziness and warmth, as if returning us to a fairy-tale time when everything was done by hand, with soul and care.
At first, it seemed to me that this activity would require a lot of skill and experience. But it turned out that with a little patience and inspiration, you can create amazing toys yourself. For work, I needed simple materials - cotton wool, paste, wire and acrylic paints. And most importantly - the desire to create something unique and festive. At first, I tried to make small snowmen and stars. It turned out to be easier than I thought: cotton wool easily takes the desired shape, and details can be added gradually, making the toy more realistic with each layer. Gradually, I began to complicate my work, trying to create figures of angels, hares, bears - it turned out amazingly beautiful.
In the process, I discovered many interesting techniques. For example, cotton wool can be tinted, adding color and volume to the toys, or you can leave them snow-white, like snowflakes. When the work is ready, the toy remains to be covered with a light layer of varnish so that it holds its shape and can please the eye for a long time.
Now every evening I sit down at the table with a cup of hot tea, immerse myself in creativity and imagine how my toys will decorate the Christmas tree or bring joy to someone. It is especially nice that each toy is unique - with its own mood and character.
This activity turned out to be a real find for me. Cotton toys are not just decorations, but an opportunity to put a little warmth and imagination into the upcoming holiday. Maria.
