Every evening begins with the phrase: "Mom, will you help me with my homework?" And then I realize that the most interesting part has begun. Usually we sit down with notebooks, textbooks and a sip of optimism. Of course, I have a plan in my head: now we will quickly do math, Ukrainian, and we will still have time for dinner and a movie. But after a couple of minutes I realize that my son has a completely different strategy. He intends to test my pedagogical nerves for strength. It all starts with something easy: math. My son assures me that he understood everything, and then looks at me with a face like "save me, help me." Well, we begin to analyze the problem. I show, explain on my fingers, then on apples, and then on anything that comes to hand. In the end, we come to the solution together, but we have a new question: why was this solution needed at all?
Then the Ukrainian language. I talk about cases, declensions and stresses. My son makes a serious face, nods, and in the end honestly admits: "Mom, can I just say that I'm great and that's enough?" Oh, if only we could hand in homework at school like that!
By the end of the lesson, our tandem begins to frankly "float", but the most interesting thing is still that we laugh. We play the role of "star student and strict teacher", we have our own school jokes, I help him correct mistakes, and he tells me where I'm "a little wrong". So every homework assignment is not just studying, but a real fun workout for endurance and ingenuity. And you know, despite all this "mess" of assignments, laughter and "brilliant solutions", I understand that these are important and valuable moments. We do not just study lessons - we become a team. And, perhaps, this is the most important thing. Anastasia.
