How to wash your car in winter and not become an icicle.

I'll tell you how I tried to wash my car on a cold day. The key word here is "tried".

So, it all starts with a good goal: the car is so dirty that it is impossible to tell from the back where the license plate is and where the layer of road romance is. I confidently choose a warm winter day (only -10°C!) and go to the car wash.
Of course, it's scary to go to an automatic car wash. What if, like in the movies, the brushes swirl around me and the car, and I come out not as Nadya, but as an ice cube? That's why I choose self-service - it's economical and "it's always better to do it yourself". Oh, in vain...
Choosing a place
We find an open car wash. Of course, everything around is frozen from the splashes of neighboring cars, and standing on the ice is like participating in the "Dancing on Ice Skates" show. But I'm an optimist! The main thing is confidence in every step.
We start washing
I turn on the high-pressure device. The water flows, the dirt flies off! It seems that everything is going perfectly... until I notice that the splashes are flying not only at the car, but also at me. A minute later, I look like a walking advertisement for an ice shower.
We realize the danger
By the time when half the car is already sparkling clean, the door freezes. I tried to open it - but it does not move. And then the question arises: how will I even go home?
The fight for survival
I go to the door and blow on the lock. It does not help. I open the can of defroster, but for some reason it also decided to become ice. Random passers-by smile, and I stand and think: maybe it's time to buy a bus pass after all?
Victory with a hint of comedy
In the end, I give in, leave the car to rest at the car wash and go drink hot tea. An hour later I return - and, lo and behold, the doors do open! True, now the car is dirty again, but these are minor details.
Moral of the story: if you wash your car in winter, take tea in a thermos, a heater and a good mood. And think twice before getting involved in this icy adventure. With love and slightly frozen hands,
Nadya .
