holiday season: a time to feel like a little girl again

The Excitement of Anticipation
As a child, the holiday season was all about anticipation—writing letters to St. Nicholas, sneaking a peek at wrapped gifts under the tree, and imagining the joy of snowball fights and building snowmen. Now, as an adult, that excitement hasn’t left me; it has simply changed form.

Instead of wishing for dolls or candy, I dream of experiences—sharing laughter over warm drinks, cozy evenings by the fireplace, and heartfelt moments with someone who makes the season even brighter.

What do you look forward to most during the holidays? Is it the gifts, the food, or simply the time spent with loved ones?

Rediscovering the Joy of Small Things
One thing the holidays have taught me is to appreciate the little things. A warm mug of cocoa with marshmallows, the first snowflake that lands on my nose, or the glow of candles on a quiet evening—all these moments bring a sense of peace and happiness that reminds me of being a child.

I sometimes wonder if we lose this sense of wonder as we grow older. But then, the holidays come around, and suddenly, the world feels magical again. I find myself singing along to Christmas songs, decorating cookies with more icing than necessary, and feeling giddy at the thought of wrapping (and unwrapping!) gifts.

When was the last time you let yourself enjoy the small, simple pleasures of life? Would you join me in rediscovering them this season?

The Magic of Sharing
As a little girl, I believed that holiday magic came from St. Nicholas, Grandfather Frost, or even Santa Claus. Now, I know the real magic lies in sharing—sharing joy, love, and moments with others.

I dream of decorating a tree together, laughing as we tangle in the lights, or sharing a festive meal, talking about everything and nothing. I imagine the two of us walking hand in hand through a snowy park, watching the world sparkle like a snow globe.

If you could share one magical holiday experience with someone, what would it be? Building a snowman? A candlelit dinner? Or something even more personal?

A Season for Dreams
The holidays also remind me of the importance of dreaming. As children, we believed anything was possible. As adults, we sometimes let reality dim those dreams. But December has a way of reigniting them—dreams of love, happiness, and a future filled with warmth and connection.

I like to imagine what it would be like to share these dreams with someone who feels the same. Would you sit by the fire with me, sharing stories of your hopes and wishes? Would you tell me about the little boy you once were and the man you’ve become?

What are your dreams for the holiday season? And what would it mean to share them with someone who believes in you?

Let’s Make This Season Special
This holiday season, I feel like a little girl again, full of hope and excitement. But what would make it truly special is sharing that joy with someone who understands the magic of the season. Someone who, like me, believes that life’s most beautiful moments are the ones we share.

So tell me:

What is your favorite holiday memory from childhood?
How do you usually celebrate this magical time of year?
If you could create one new holiday tradition with someone, what would it be?
I’d love to hear your answers, and maybe—just maybe—we’ll find a way to create some magical memories together.
