December 5 – volunteer day: a holiday for those who give hope
id: 10044389

In times of war, this holiday has taken on a special meaning for us. Ukrainian volunteers have become the force that supports our soldiers, saves civilians and does everything possible to bring victory closer. The volunteer movement in Ukraine is about strength, humanity and indomitability.
Volunteering in times of war: what help means today
This year, Volunteer Day for many of us is not just another date on the calendar, it is an opportunity to look back on our contribution to the struggle for freedom and independence.
I also belong to a large family of volunteers. In this difficult time, I cannot stay away and do everything possible to help our army. Some raise funds, others find equipment, food or medicine, and some simply find time to support with a warm word. Each of us makes our contribution to the common struggle.
Today, volunteering in Ukraine is:
Helping the military: providing them with ammunition, warm clothing, drones, transportation, equipment.
Supporting internally displaced persons: food, housing, consultations and moral support.
Rebuilding communities: helping those affected by shelling, restoring infrastructure, organizing gatherings for those in need.
Why is it important to be a volunteer?
Volunteering changes lives. Everyone who has helped at least once knows what it is like to feel that you are doing something important. On difficult days, when the darkness seems endless, it is our actions that can become a ray of light.
Volunteers are the heroes of the home front. Without them, it would be much harder for the army to survive this war. These are the people who do not ask “why?”, but say “let's do it!”.
Thank you to everyone who does not stand aside
On this day, I want to thank everyone who joins the volunteer movement. We are all different, but we are united by a common goal - the victory of Ukraine. Together we are stronger, together we will overcome any difficulties.
Let Volunteer Day be a reminder to everyone about the power of goodness and humanity. And for those who are still thinking about whether to join, I will say: your help is important! There is no small or big thing - there is a common result that we create together.
Thank you to everyone who is contributing to our Victory today! 💙💛
