Being stupid is ugly.
id: 10052353

Let’s get one thing straight: stupidity isn’t a lack of knowledge. We all don’t know something, and that’s okay. But stubbornly not learning, ignoring common sense, and believing in your own infallibility are closer to the very stupidity we want to talk about. Stupidity manifests itself in small things. For example, when a person stubbornly parks across two spaces, thinking, “It’s more convenient for me this way.” Or when he yells loudly at a waiter, forgetting that good manners adorn anyone. This isn’t just impoliteness, it’s a way of telling the world, “I don’t care what you think of me.”
Being stupid is not asking questions when you don’t know. Being stupid is pretending that you already know everything. It's like walking with a compass in the forest, but holding it upside down because "I'll figure it out anyway." Stupidity is also about lack of responsibility. For example, pouring trash out into the street and thinking that it's not your problem. Or saying that global warming is a myth because it's cold outside today.
But do you know what's the ugliest thing about stupidity? It's contagious. One stupid act inspires others to do even stupider ones. It's like a snowball rushing down, sweeping away everything reasonable in its path.
Beauty is not only about appearance. It is also the ability to think, and the willingness to learn, and the desire to understand others. A person who tries to be smarter becomes not only more interesting, but also... more beautiful.
So, let's be smarter. Not to impress anyone, but to not lose our own beauty. After all, being smart is always fashionable. Maria.
