Every New Year for me is not just a change of date, but a time of hope. It is a special moment when it seems that the world freezes in anticipation of a miracle. Snowflakes swirl in the light of lanterns, frost draws patterns on the windows, and the air is filled with the trepidation of something unknown but beautiful. New Year is the belief that the most important and good things will definitely happen, that something better awaits us ahead.
As a child, I always waited for the New Year with bated breath. Decorating the tree was a real ritual. I remember how I took glass toys out of the box, so fragile and beautiful. In my childish eyes, they seemed magical. Each toy seemed to have its own story, its own secret. I believed that if you close your eyes and make a wish, the tree will definitely hear it.
These traditions live in me to this day. Now, when I decorate the tree, I think about those who are no longer with me, about those who were dear to me, and about those whom I have not yet met. Every time I hang a star on the top of the tree, I imagine that it illuminates not only the room, but also my path, my dreams, those corners of the soul that are so waiting for warmth.
New Year's Eve for me is a time of silence and reflection. When the hands of the clock converge at twelve, everything around seems to freeze. I go outside, feel the frost nipping my cheeks, look up at the stars and mentally make my most cherished wish. This year I will wish to meet a man who will become not just a companion, but the closest and dearest person. A man with whom it will be easy and calm, with whom I will want to live all the New Year's nights ahead.
Do you believe that wishes made on this magical night can come true? Do you have a cherished wish that you have carried through the years?
New Year is not only about firecrackers and fireworks. It is about meetings. Meetings with yourself, with dreams and with people who make our life real. It is about the realization that we are stronger than we think, that we are capable of love despite the disappointments we have gone through, and that we can always start over.
May this New Year bring warmth to our homes and hearts. May it give us unexpected, but such valuable meetings. And may it become the beginning of something for which you want to smile every day.
I believe that somewhere on this night behind another window there is a person who made the same wish as I did. Perhaps he is looking at the same stars as I do, thinking that meeting that very person is his greatest miracle. And what will you wish for this night? Do you believe that fate can give us a chance exactly when we expect it most? Let the magic of the New Year warm us all. After all, this is the beginning of something amazing.
