Listen to your heart: how to avoid the traps of public opinion
id: 10055157

But what if I disagree? What if I think some of these ideas are fine? What if I enjoy waking up later and skipping morning workouts? Or I’m perfectly okay with a traditional job and climbing the career ladder at my own pace? What if I’m still unsure about having kids, each for my own reasons? What if I can’t yet achieve financial success because rent and grocery prices are skyrocketing? What if I’m fine paying for my boyfriend because it fits our circumstances or I just want to treat him? And then someone sees it and starts pointing fingers at me. 🙄

So, what do we do?

Perfect Instagram posts and “rules for success” on the internet create pressure. They make us feel like we must meet certain standards and expectations. We’re hit with the fear of missing out because we think we "have to keep up."

Here are some key points to remember:

1. Define Your Personal Values
This is the foundation of building your own life. Everyone has the right to choose what’s important to them — whether it’s staying in a traditional job, enjoying a stable income, or having a unique dynamic in a relationship. Your values may differ from others, and that’s okay. If you’re comfortable in a relationship where you split expenses or where the woman pays, that’s your decision.

2. Accept Yourself
In a world where everyone strives to meet certain standards, remember that everyone’s journey is unique. If you like waking up later and skipping yoga, it doesn’t make you less successful or happy. Each person has their own rhythm and preferences. There’s no single universal recipe for happiness, and that’s perfectly fine.

3. Move at Your Own Pace
We all move at different speeds, and that’s natural. Don’t rush into decisions about kids or career paths just because someone else thinks it’s "normal." Take the time you need to reflect and find your own direction. You have the right to explore your desires and needs without outside pressure.

4. Listen to Yourself
Listening to your feelings and desires is the key to understanding yourself. If something makes you uncomfortable or resistant, take time to examine why. Maybe you need to make changes in your life, or maybe you just need time to reflect. 🤔

Recognizing that everyone has the right to their preferences and lifestyle can help reduce stress and improve your quality of life. Don’t be afraid to follow your own path and make choices that align with your values and desires. ❤️
