My signature christmas cookies: secrets, jokes and a little magic.

Every year I bake my signature Christmas cookies. And do you know what makes them signature? No, not a family recipe passed down from my grandmother (although I suspect that my grandmother simply bought them at the nearest bakery). The secret is that I cook them with the mood! And yes, sometimes the mood wants to add a little more chocolate than required.

My cookie recipe:
Take flour, sugar, butter and a pinch of patience - because the dough always sticks to your hands!
Add cinnamon, ginger and a little vanilla so that the kitchen is immediately filled with the aroma of the holiday.
Put the dough on the table, but first check if it is clean. One day, my son decided to cut out cookies right where his Lego house was. After that, we found "bricks" not only in the dough, but also in the oven.
While the cookies are baking, the main thing is not to get distracted! Once I got carried away decorating the Christmas tree and got cookies that can be used instead of barbecue coals. Now it's a joke in the family: "Nadya has New Year's coals again!"
When the cookies are ready, I decorate them with icing. But in my house, it's more of a competition: which of the children will make the funniest cookies. We've already had gingerbread men with mustaches, glasses, and even carnival masks.
In my house, Christmas cookies are not only a tasty treat, but also a reason to get together, laugh, fantasize, and compete a little in the art of decorating.
And how are you with cookies? Do you have a "signature" one? Or do you, like my grandmother, just buy it in the store and enjoy it?
With love and cinnamon aroma, Nadya.
