I absolutely love decorating my home, especially at this time of year. It feels like lights, candles, and even little ornaments create such an atmosphere that makes you want to curl up under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate and read a book. I can't resist stringing up garlands everywhere, from the Christmas tree to the windows. And, of course, the smell of cinnamon and vanilla, which I add to both candles and baked goods, is a must.

When it comes to traditional Ukrainian dishes, Christmas is a time to treat loved ones to something delicious and familiar. I always prepare borscht with pampushki, which warms you up on cold winter evenings, and kutya — it's an essential dish on the holiday table. And, of course, vareniki with potatoes or cherries always add something special to the celebration. Baked pies with apples or nuts also can’t be left out — they fill the house with an incredible aroma of coziness.
