Christmas and new year's eve, how it all began
id: 10055443

🎅 ❄️🎁 We have been celebrating Christmas for over 1700 years! 🎉 It began as the birthday of Jesus Christ, and over the years it became a holiday for everyone. New Year's Eve came to us much later - in the 16th and 17th centuries, when calendars began to change. 🎆

And Santa Claus 🎅? This kind old man with a beard who brings gifts to children comes from Latin America and Europe. His image is linked to St. Nicholas, who was known for his generosity and love for children. The modern Santa Claus, as we know him, appeared in the United States in the 19th century thanks to popular Christmas stories and advertisements. He's always with a smile, a red suit, and of course, a sack of presents! 🎁❄️⛄️

In addition, the custom of decorating a Christmas tree 🌲🫧 came to us from Germany. It all started in the XVI century, when houses began to put small Christmas trees and decorate them with apples and sweets. Already in the XIX century the Christmas tree became an obligatory attribute of the holiday, and we still continue to decorate it with lights, toys and garlands. 🌟🎄🎊

Holiday traditions change, but the magic of Christmas and New Year's Eve is always with us. May everything we dream of come true this New Year! 🎉🎄🎁
