Step one: Dress or “how not to confuse a corporate party with a masquerade ball”Finding a dress is like hunting for a unicorn. You want something bright, but not too bright, elegant, but not boring, and most importantly — so that your colleagues don’t whisper in the corner: “Oh, this is last year’s dress!”
As a result, I went around all the stores in the area, tried on so many outfits that the consultants began to smile at me with a hint of slight regret. But here it is — the dress of my dreams! Now it hangs in the closet, waiting for its moment, and scares me with its shine: “What if you accidentally say at work that this is not Versace, but “the market around the corner”?”
Step two: Hairstyle or “when your head turns into a field of experiments”
I studied trends for a long time: curls, buns, braids... But at some point it became clear to me - this is all great, but if you have to go to the corporate party in a hat, why all this torment? Therefore, my choice fell on the universal option: “a little bit of disorder, but with a twist”. Translated into human language, this sounds like “quickly combed my hair and smiled”.
Step three: Makeup or “everything is more complicated than it seems”. Makeup is not just beauty, it is a strategy. It is important not to overdo it. The main goal is not to look like you were going to host a New Year's party on the central channel. I reviewed a bunch of tutorials and chose the classics: eyeliner and red lipstick. Well, if something goes wrong, you can always say that it’s a new trend.
Step four: Gifts for colleagues. Oh, that’s a separate topic. There will always be someone who will bring a handmade masterpiece, and you start to feel, to put it mildly, uncomfortable with your box of chocolates. So I decided: I will give a mood! I bought postcards with jokes and added a couple of my own. I hope my humor will be appreciated.
Step five: Dance rehearsal. A corporate party without dancing is not a corporate party, but a work meeting with snacks. So I updated the playlist with 90s hits and refreshed my memory of my best moves. Now the main thing is not to overdo it and not become a YouTube star in the category of “the most energetic dancer of the evening”.
Well, my dears, that’s how I’ve prepared! All that’s left is to wait for the corporate party itself and the main thing is not to forget that the fun will be followed by the morning, which means that the day before you need to be careful with champagne.
