I’m an independent woman, and while I don’t need a man to play Santa, coming down my chimney with a thousand presents, that doesn’t mean I don’t want love. I believe I can be a successful partner to a successful man. I don’t need someone to complete me, but I do want someone to share in life’s journey, build something meaningful together, and lift each other up. That’s a relationship based on respect and mutual growth.
I’ve been reflecting on something I never quite understood: the Princess archetype. This type of woman often works hard to capture male attention — sometimes through exaggerated behaviors, like forced laughter or always trying to be “cute.” She might make light of everything, saying things like, "Oh, you're so funny and adorable!" even when the situation isn’t really that funny. She’s drawn to all things traditionally feminine, like pink dresses and playing the part of the sweet, harmless girl who’s always nice and never challenges anything. She’ll support whatever’s popular just to be liked, always trying to please others and avoiding standing firm in her own beliefs.
Now, I don’t think this type of behavior is inherently wrong or something to criticize. I think it’s just something I never fully understood. It's not that these women are "bad" or unworthy of love. It’s just that, for me, the kind of partnership I’m looking for is built on depth, equality, and a genuine connection. I'm not interested in someone who only wants to be adored or admired for playing a certain role. I want a relationship where both partners are equals, contributing to each other’s growth and success. We don’t need to wear masks or be anyone we’re not — we can be our true selves and support each other in that.
And honestly, I think my position is wise because it’s about building a partnership, not a performance. It’s about bringing two strong individuals together who don’t rely on each other for validation, but who choose to stand side by side, building something real and lasting. And that's the foundation for a love that can grow, evolve, and withstand the challenges life throws at us.
