A "real man" does not exist, mainly because he
is just an opinion. He is someone's idea of
what he should be, and this differs from person
to person.

This is my opinion, and how I try to live:

A real man is, first and foremost, a gentleman.
He is weak at times; he has flaws; he has
faults. He falls down, but always gets up.
But he has a pure heart. That means, at all
times, he is attempting to do the right thing.
He is guided by his higher self.
He loves his wife and family with all of his
being. He will do anything to protect them.
His only desire is to make them happy.
He is honorable. He lives by an almost
impossible code. He attempts to be on good
terms with all people. He never humiliates.
He attempts to avoid conflict, but will fight
ferociously when attacked.
No sign of indecency is found in him.
He attempts to be better than he was yesterday.
He is introspective, constantly searching for
ways to improve himself.
He attempts to remain healthy and fit, not to
impress women or others, but to prevent
becoming a burden on society through illness or
infirmity.
He is truthful in his speech, but avoids brutal
frankness.
He is kind, compassionate and helpful.
He gives to others in need.
He makes certain that others are fed before he eats.
He takes little for himself.
He is there when you need him.
He doesn't call himself a "real man." That is a label given to him by others.

It takes no courage to be a jerk. It takes no honor and no effort. It takes no decency, and no commitment. You just stand there and make the world revolve around you. It's easy to be a jerk. That's why there are so many...
