I want to share my favorite meat pie recipe! This pie always delights and pleases everyone at home, and I love that it is so easy to make. Let's get started!
Ingredients:
For the dough:
400 g flour
200 g butter (or margarine)
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
100 ml cold water
For the filling:
500 g minced meat (pork + beef)
1 large onion
2-3 potatoes
1 carrot
2-3 cloves of garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Spices (optional: paprika, coriander, black pepper)
Dill or parsley (for flavor)
Preparation:
1. Dough:
In a deep bowl, mix the flour and salt. Cut the cold butter and add to the flour. Rub with your hands or a knife until you get crumbs. Then add the egg and cold water. Knead the dough until smooth. Wrap it in film and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
2. Filling:
Finely chop the onion and fry in a frying pan until golden brown. Then add the minced meat, grind it so that there are no lumps. Fry until the meat is fully cooked. Grate the carrots and potatoes, add them to the frying pan. Stir and cook for another 5-7 minutes. At the end, add the garlic passed through a press, salt and pepper to taste. Don't forget to add spices and fresh herbs!
3. Forming the pie:
Take the dough out of the refrigerator. Divide it into two parts: one slightly larger for the bottom, the other for the top crust. Roll out most of the dough and place it in the pan. Evenly distribute the fried filling over the dough. Roll out the second part of the dough and cover the pie. You can make decorative cuts to let out steam and decorate the top of the pie.
4. Baking:
Brush the pie with beaten egg (optional) for a golden crust. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 40-50 minutes, until the pie is golden brown.
5. Serving:
Let the pie cool slightly, cut into portions and serve. The pie is delicious both hot and cold. You can serve it with sour cream or your favorite sauce!
