My story of acquaintance with visualization
Once I found myself in a situation when everything seemed confusing, and the way out of it was covered in thick fog. Sitting in my favorite coffee shop with a cup of cappuccino, I remembered the visualization method that I once read about. I decided to try it. I closed my eyes and imagined what my ideal outcome of this situation would look like. I saw how the problems dissolved, and I stood at the top with a clear understanding of what to do next. It became calm inside, and most importantly - I became confident in my abilities. Why does this work? Our brain is an amazing tool. It does not always distinguish between imagination and reality. When we visualize a successful resolution to a problem, the brain begins to believe that it is possible. It “trains” and prepares itself for everything to work out. Visualization also helps you focus on the positive aspects. When you see a bright, joyful outcome in your head, it is much easier to direct your energy in the right direction. How to use visualization? Find a quiet place. Solitude will help you focus on your thoughts. Close your eyes and breathe deeply. Relax and release tension.
Imagine an ideal outcome. Think about how you would like to see the situation resolved. Imagine the details: where you are, what you are doing, how you feel. Add emotions. Feel joy, relief, confidence - let this become part of your visualization. Repeat regularly. Visualization is a skill that needs to be developed.
Personal advice. Don't limit yourself to difficult situations. Use visualization for everyday affairs as well. Want to have a successful meeting? Imagine it in advance. Dreaming of a pleasant trip?
